National Storm Chaser's Convention

The 12th annual National Storm Chaser Convention will take place February 12-14, 2010 at the Red Lion Hotel, 4040 Quebec Street, Denver, Colorado. The official ChaserCon 2010 agenda is still being finalized and will be announced shortly.

A Mesoanalysis Special Training Course will be offered on Friday, February 12, 2010, 9 pm - 12 am. This special session will be taught by Tim Vasquez, a former Air Force meteorologist from Norman, Oklahoma. Tim runs the Stormtrack website, is the author of the Storm Chasing Handbook and a number of forecast book titles, and is a writer for Weatherwise magazine. This three-hour course teaches key principles of of severe weather forecasting and provides excellent groundwork for the convention's Saturday and Sunday sessions. From 9 to 10 pm we will cover the fundamentals of sounding and hodograph analysis, one of Tim's most requested training areas, giving a thorough working knowledge of SKEW-T diagrams, hodographs, and instability. From 10 to 11 pm we will go over all the latest techniques in mesoanalysis, diagnosis, and storm forecasting. From 11 pm to midnight we will allow attendees to participate in an interactive chase day forecast simulation.

The 2010 National Storm Chaser Convention will be held at a new Red Lion Hotel this year in Denver, Colorado!
